Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Completed a 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course
• Passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test
• Completed a major or minor in Japanese language education at a university or graduate school
• Certified as a Registered Japanese Language Teacher by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan
• Completed the SuikaTalk Japanese Teacher Training Program
• Possess equivalent knowledge or experience in Japanese language education

Application Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Have a stable internet connection and a quiet space for teaching.
• Familiar with online video calls and comfortable using basic video call tools.
• Able to conduct lessons using a computer, not a tablet or smartphone.
• Ensure good lighting, clear microphone audio, and high camera quality in your teaching environment.
• Capable of providing lessons that respect and accommodate learners' diverse backgrounds and individual needs.
• Able to manage time well and stick to lesson schedules.
• Able to explain Japanese pitch accent rules (e.g., atamadaka, nakadaka, odaka, heiban).
• Able to explain verb groups and the "Te-form."
• Able to explain the difference between "は" and "が."
• Can teach with a smile and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
