I began my career teaching Japanese online on some of the major existing platforms.
During that time, I was amazed by how many learners around the world wanted to study Japanese.
I saw that online Japanese learning was a field full of potential and growing rapidly.
However, I also noticed some problems.
Many learners told me things like, "This is the first time I've met a teacher who explains things so clearly," or "I only got vague answers that did not help me understand."
These comments were often shared by learners I taught on those other platforms.
This showed me how difficult it was for learners to find truly qualified teachers, because many platforms have only formal screening processes.
For example, interviewers are often not professional Japanese language educators, so they cannot fully check if teachers have the right skills and knowledge.
From the learner’s perspective, it can be very hard to tell who is a good teacher.
Seeing learners frustrated and wasting time and money, I wanted to create a place where every teacher is carefully and correctly selected by experts.
This desire led me to establish SuikaTalk.
